The Importance of the Two-tone Frock in an Ensemble Age a~y Have you a coat in an unusual shade of red or green? Here is the solution for that under-coat dress you have been seeking. The skirt is made of marocain crepe to match your coat, and the blouse may be of any shade that delights your eye, provided the skirt agrees to the combination. Notice the triple-bow effect a little below the V-neckline, which is repeated at the banded hipline of blouse. A Youthful Design that Achieves Rare Chic Flattering to both blondes and brunettes is this delicate combin- ation of white, pale chartreuse and gold in as lovely a formal en- semble as the season has seen. The dress is white chiffon with petals of chartreuse and _ gold, which colors are repeated in the bow fall ing from the attractive Louiseboulanger neckline. The wrap of ermine is lined in chart- reuse velvet--and if this sounds too prohibitive for your purse, try the same wrap in white vel- vet. rs Christmas Tree Was Treat for Children a of Sunday School . The annual Christmas /Tree and entertainment, held for St. Paul's Church Sunday School, was held on Friday evening last in the Orange Hall, when all the scholars assembled, with a goodly proportion of grown-ups, and had avery pleasant time. There was a beautifully decorated tree, with presents for all, and singing, re- citations, etc., with a short play to complete the program. At the beginning of entertainment refreshments were served and all went home happy. ! The entertainment was arrang- ed under the direction of the C. G.1I.T., the members of which wish to thank all those who help- ed to make it such an outstand- ing success. It is, therefore, rather an ap- yropriate time for us to review he health conditions of our fam- lies as they were during the past year. First of all, we should consider whether or not we have aken those steps which would protect us from certain diseases. Vaccination does prevent small- pox. Have you allowed yourself pr your children to be exposed failure to use vaccination asa means of Diphtheria can be orevented by diphtheria immuni- zation. Haye you allowed this disease to continue as a menace 'to the very lives of your children "by your failure to have them im- munized? Safe water and pure milk are Contamin- ated water and dirty milk are still the cause of much sickness and many deaths. Have you seen to it that the water you and your family drink, and the milk that you use are pure, or do you live with the dangers of impure wa- ter and milk hanging over you? Have you given attention to your home? Are your windows screened to keep out flies? Do the windows open for proper yen- tilation? Does the sunshine get into yeur rooms? A much larger measure of health is within the grasp of most of us, but we must make the necessary effort to seize it. '|If you delayed last year, if you were careless in health matters, start off this year by doing the things you should do in order to avoid certain diseases and to lead healthier lives. The Christmas Shopper 2O2ee to: My Lady issues firmans of good will, at Christmas time, As though she freely gave the bills of currency, to all She met upon a crowded street, when she a-shopping goes, E'en though these are but blank cheques to good-will with- out a call Upon her own resources, good merely upon demand, Pan to be honored like gifts from kind Fates' means scal. My Lady is a patroness of Art; but, I like her When mischievously mixed for real intent of what to get And whom to get it for, in Yule-tide, best of all, because Her heart is big enough to buy so much, there is a debt So mutual, so fine, it never can be, all, quite paid And, more because her judgment is so good at fixing set. To whom she will make gifts of art expressive of good-will Now by a bit of jewellery--now, by some Christmas cards, And this,--she knows the value of her name on all she gives So when she sends her gifts inscribed, these always serye as wards, To some-one for a good part of another dawning year.
