Schmidt-Foster third Angela Schmidt-Foster of Midland is Canada's all-time third place medal win- ner in cross country skiing. Schmidt-Foster of Midland defended her 10 kilometer classic style title at Burn's Lake, B.C. last Wednesday. Her time of 32 minutes, 21.4 seconds was 18 seconds ahead of Lorna Sasseville of Ottawa. Third place finisher, Marie Andree Masson, was a minute and 23 seconds behind the winner. The win was Angela's third consecutive in the 10k and sixth medal in that event since 1982. The gold gave her a career total of 27, one more than Esther Miller of Burn's Lake. Shirley Firth of Inuvik leads the all-time list with 42, while her twin sister, Sharon, is in second place with 37.
