Cents took the best of seven series in straight games. Friday night Innisfil took the lead at 6:50 of the first when David Davies beat John Gibson in the Midland net. Ted French drew Midland even less than 90 seconds later assisted by Craig Demp- sey and Don Robertson. George Gunther put the Cents in front at 11:39 to end the first period scoring. Trevor Irvine scored for Midland at the four minute mark of the se- cond stanza. Davies and Bill Farr knotted the count with markers before the period ended. Don Robertson, helped by Ted French put Midland up one once again early in the third but Chris Gerard came back for the Bruins on the power play at 7:04. Robert son potted a pair in the second with Larmand, Chris Bales and Irvine netting singles. Varga replied for the Bruins as Midland led 7-2. Farr made the count 7-3, 24 seconds into the final frame only to have Midland answer with four straight tallies. Brad Wadge, Larmand, Irvine and Robertson counted singles. Lewis and Frank Gionnone faced 51 shots in the Innisfil net while Midland's Murphy made 30 saves. The Centennials will start a best of seven semi- final series with Stayner Siskins Friday in Centen- nial Arena beginning at 8:30 p.m. Game two is ex- pected to be back in Stayner Saturday night _ with the third in Midland midweek. Midland will have two new players in the line-up Friday. Jeff McLennan, a 20-year-old 6'3' forward from the East coast and 6' defenceman Kevin Pollack from Kincardine will bolster the line-up. Both players attend Georgian College in Bar- rie and were signed by Midland a month ago but waited until Georgian's schedule had ended before suiting up with Midland. Ross McConnell, coach and general manager, also announced Craig Dempsey would remain with the club. Dempsey had previously been used in case of an emergency.
