Ken Lacroix added a pair with single counters from Dave Genier, Bill Mundy, John Walters and Dave Robillard. Rob Quesnelle fired a pair in the loss with Rob Cowan and Peter Roi netting singles. Therrien's Furniture kept pace with the league leaders by dumping Alex's Service Center 7-1. League leading scorer, Brian Pilon scored three times in the win with Glen Hirlehey adding a brace. Steve Buttineau and Roy Ferguson com- pleted yhe scoring for Therrien's. Bill Arbour recorded the lone Alex's goal. Hindson Marine doubl- ed Penetang Quality Home Products. 6-3 behind the two-goal per- formances of Dan McNamara and Dave Parent. Brad Coghill and Steve St. Amant rounded out the scoring. Gary Duval, Jeff LeClair and Glen Hancock replied for Penetang Products. Castex loses crown Monsignor Lee from Orillia captured the se- cond annual Sacred Heart Senior boys basket- ball tournament Saturday at Sacred Heart School. Defending champion Monsignor Castex was edged 38-36 in an ex- citing final match, over- coming a 16-point disad- vantage against the Orillia squad. In preliminary action, Parkview defeated Sacred Heart 54-42 with Todd Ritchie hooping 26 points for the winners. John Szezurek netted 22 for Sacred Heart. Monsignor Lee bombed James Keating 37-9, while Victoria Harbour took the measure of Monsignor Clair of Barrie, 52-28. Regent was nipped by Monsignor Castex 49-45. On the championship side, Monsignor Lee overpowered Parkview 46-12. Castex found all it could handle in Victoria Harbour, narrowly escap- ing with a 52-50 win. Trevor Robbins netted 14 points for Castex. In the final confronta- tion, Monsignor Lee found itself comfortably in front, 18-8, at half time. However, Castex stormed back in the second half and drew within two points with less than a minute to play. However, the clock ran out and Monsignor Lee was crowned champions. Frank Bosco led the victors with 19 points while Raymond Cloutier was high point man for Castex with 14. On the consolation side Sacred Heart downed James Keating of Penetanguishene 33-20 and Steven Hay's 18 points paced Regent to a 44-42 win over Mon- signor Clair. In the consolation final, Regent trailed Sacred Heart by four at the half. At the final buzzer, Sacred Heart held a 55-50 win. MVP Jeff McGrath registered 27 points in the victory while John Szczurek scored 19. Steve Hay led Regent with 23 points. Rowing club pulls together Georgian Bay Rowing is pulling together for another year of great recreational rowing and successful competition. The club will start the season with a general meeting at the Historic Naval and Military Establishments Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting is open to all interested par- ties, followed by a social evening. Initial plans on the club's proposed new clubhouse will be unveil- ed. Films, slides, demonstrations and refreshments will also be a part of the meeting. For details, contact Bill Byrick at 526-3087. Soccer to hold meeting A general organiza- tional meeting for minor soccer will be held March 2; 7:30pm, ab the Midland Civic Centre. The purpose of the meeting will be to prepare for the 1989 soc- cer season and the Inter- national Friendship Wednesday, Games which will be held this summer in Canan- daigua, N.Y.
