High-scoring games continue for Tykes High scoring games continued to be the order in Midland Tyke House League hockey action as Stoneleigh outlasted the Wings 10-8. Karl Kaspar led Stoneleigh's onslaught with four markers while Joshua Jeffery added a trio. Nicholas Jeffery con- tributed a brace and Eric Tindale notched a single. Smith Mobile Home Bantams tied Wye Heritage 4-4 with Rodney Land (2), Shawn Belfry and Keith Duval scoring for Heritage and Dan Middleton (2), Ryan Deschambault and Jason Reynolds reply- ing for Smith's. Huntsville came from behind to win the game 6-4. basketball tournament will take place Fri- day and Saturday at the MSS gym. The event is sponsored by MacDonald's restaurants. In pool one, Midland will be joined by Oshawa O'Neill, Barrie Eastview and Penetanguishene Secondary School. St. Theresa's, Barrie Innisdale, Orillia District Collegiate and Vocational Institute and Lo- Ellen Secondary School comprise Pool two. The format calls for a single round robin within each pool. On Friday, MSS faces Eastview at 4 p.m. while Innisdale tackles OD at 5:30. MSS swings back into action at 7 against Oshawa while Lo-Ellen plays Innisdale at 8:30 p.m. The-schedule at St.T's has PSS playing Oshawa and Eastview at 4 p.m. and 7 while St. Theresa's meets Lo-Ellen at 5:30 and OD at 8:30 p.m. The Saturday match-ups have MSS and PSS starting at 9 a.m. and Lo-Ellen versus OD at 10:30 a.m. At St. Theresa's, Oshawa and Eastview are in the curtain raiser while St. T's and Innisdale do battle at 10:30 a.m. The runners-up in each pool play at 12:30 p.m. while the pool winners meet in the championship tilt at 2 p.m. Both con- tests are at MSS. Kings can't hold the lead Penetanguishene S. Charlebois Kings took an early lead but then dropped a 6-4 decision at home Friday night to the Hunt- sville Blair McCanns. The Kings led 1-0 after one period of the Gerogian Bay Junior C contest and 2-1 after two. Back to back counters near the midway point of the final stanza sank the Kings who led 4-3 at the time. Brent Dubeau opened the scoring on a power play at 6:21 of the first assisted by Mike Grube and Kent Nelson. Wayne Desjardins beat Norm Webb in the Huntsville net at the 7:22 mark of the middle frame with help from Nelson and Roy Taylor on another man advantage. Greg O'Meara put the visitors on the board a minute later on the power play. Huntsville struck 30 seconds into the third as O'Meara counted again. Jamie Page gave the Blair McCanns a 3-2 lead at 1:15 only to have Penetang reply 47 seconds later when Dubeau teamed with Desjardins and Mark Rankin. The Kings regained the lead at 6:27 on an unassisted goal by Shawn Desroches. O'Meara and Dave Thur registered markers 37 seconds apart as Huntsville took a 5-4 lead at 8:38. Rod McDonald clicked with a man advantage at 15:57 to close the scoring. Jim Roberts faced 42 shots in the Penetang net while Webb saw 46 Penetang drives.
