PHARMACY 526-2781 264 King St., Midland Candidates not invited by Robert Risk Staff Writer Penetanguishene's Water and Light Commission candidates weren't invited to speak at last Thursday's all candidates meeting at Penetang Secondary School. The three men, Waxy Gregoire, Leger Robitaille and incumbent Martin Marchildon - vying for two seats -- all said they were disappointed they weren't given a chance to address the issues in a public forum. "With the problems they had with the water this summer (bacteria and water pressure), I'd think there was something to talk about,"' said Gregoire. CKMP news director Bhan Wicks, one of the organizers, indicated there was more importance plac- ed on the candidates for council and that the public would be less interested in the water commission. Both Wicks and Maclean Hunter program manager Frank Myers said they were surprised when ques- tions concerning the water problems were raised at the meeting. "All I can say is that we learn something every time we cover an election," said RE-ELECT KLUG(X) FOR Council Myers. The organizers said another factor was the amount of time allowed for the meeting, which ran about two and a half hours. "Tt would have added another half hour to the show," said Maclean Hunter programmer Leslie Kent-Fougere. She did point out that all the Penetang candidates have been offered 10 minutes of air time to pre- sent themselves in a more private setting, but that none had done so yet. -Gorrection Buzz didn't endorse Bill The Huronia Weekend of Oct. 28 wrongly reported that Midland Councillor Buzz Brown endorsed municipal election can- didate Bill Ogilvie by sign- ing Ogilvie's nomination paper.
