------SSe eee Most successful to date Terry Fox run a big hit The K-Mart sponsored Terry Fox Run was held Sunday. The eighth annual event was «easily the most successful to date with 90 run- ners, walkers and bikers taking part. Last year, 18 participants brought in $1,980 com- pared with more than $8,500 from the 90 this time. Run organizer Bev King expects the total to reach over $9,000 when all the pledges come in. The total proceeds were"aided by the $2,000 raised by the Sunrise Saddle Club of Port Severn which was led on a 25-mile ride by Babs Ellis of Lafontaine. The event included Missy Duval, formerly of Penetanguishene. The four-year-old Brampton resident became famous in the area because of her tremendous battle with Old Timers face off The Huronia Old A's are hosting their first annual Oldtimers Hockey Tournament this weekend at the Penetang Arena. The 16-team tourney will begin Friday night and run through Sunday. G and W Masonry of Barrie will tackle Wasaga Beach Olde Boys at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a tilt between Midland Over 45's and Barrie Door Service. The Penetang Old Timers face off against Waltec Raiders at 9 p.m. while the Coldwater Creaks will do bat- tle against the Orillia Oldtimers in the even- ing's curtain closer at 10 p.m. Games resume Saturday at 8 a.m. with the 'last contest starting at 7 p.m. A dance will begin at 8 p.m. in the Brian Orser Hall. Food and refreshements will be available at the arena all weekend long. The two-division tourney will have the over 45's playing a round-robin format and the under 45's will particpate in a seek their own level.
