MPP critical of Tiny deputy-reeve critical of him Tiny Township received a letter last week from Markham MPP Donald Cousens. But his cor- respondence had little to do with business at Queen's Park; he was writing as president of the Nottawaga * Creek Ratepayers' Association. He used official govern- ment letterhead to file his complaints to council. That angered Deputy Reeve Peter Brasher: "I am disapppointed that an MPP should use provincial government lettterhead to represent a beach associa- tion," he said. The deputy reeve sug- gested that this was something done "at the taxpayer's expense."' Cousens had a number of complaints: He objects to a parking lot which is proposed for the bottom of Concession 12 and demands an oppor- tunity to publicly say so at some official meeting. If the township proceeds with its plans to build to the parking lot, Cousens warns that his group will "take our objections to the Ontario Municipal Board." The MPP wants to carefully ~ study "any changes to the official plan'"' between Conces- sions 12 and 13. He would "appreciate recieving a copy of the gap most up-to-date official plan of the township." Cousens suggests that some people with proper- ty in the Nottawaga area might be paying too much for garbage pick up. He wants to know how the township determined the costs for each cottager and year-round resident. "Was any consideration given to having the costs for cottagers reduced over that of year-round residents? An explanation of the rational of this deci- preciated,'"' Cousens says. Betty Screpnek, Gloria's counsellor, set her up in an intense training program with classroom training in life skills and office management.
