How's Your Mother Midland Stoneleigh Centennial Steve Bressette (20) is being held back by the linesman as he has a few words with a Huntsville Blair McCann Friday night at Centennial Arena. Midland lost the one-sided contest 12-3 but rebounded Saturday night in Innisfil as they Walker's Special Zone Finals held by Peter Lacroix Walker's Special Old Na- tional League Executive Five Pin Championships Zone Finals were held on Sunday, Nov. 29 at Pene- tang Knight Haven Lanes, for all league executives that belong to the Midland and Penetanguishene Five Pin Association. There were three divisions, Pres- idents, Secretaries, and Treasurers. Any league having a Statistician had to compete in the Secretaries division. Members of each divi- sion that bowled the most P.O.A. in three games will represent Midland and ' Penetanguishene in the Provincial Champion ship on January 30 in London, Ontario with all expenses paid by the Midland and Penetanguishene Five Pin Association. Winners in each division in the Provincial shall receive an all expense paid holiday trip for two to Florida. And will represent the Province of Ontario at the National Champion- ships on April 23 in Ottawa. Winning the President's Division was Dennis Bra- bant of the Friday Night League bowling with a $169 P.O.A. Second runner-up was Phil Kalka of St. Margaret's League bowling at $85 P.O.A. Winning the Secretaries Division was Debbie Belfrey of the Huronia Hospital League bowling at $130 P.O.A. Second runner-up was Peter Lacroix of Penetang In- dustrial League bowling at $115 P.O.A. Winning the Treasurers Division was Harvey Stevens of the Midland In- dustrial League bowling at $94 P.O.A. Second runner- up was Helen Trew of the Georgian Bay League bowl- ing at $56 P.O.A. Twa bowlers from Midland and Penetangu- ishene bowled identical scores on the same night. J.P. Moreau of the Penetanguishene In- dustrial League rolled a 393 single. Starting of his game with nine strike in a row, a little nervous going in the 10th frame, pulled the right third and second pin on his first ball. His delivery on his econd ball was right in the pocket. J.P. figured he had a spare and a chance for a 400, chop-off the fifth and third pin, leav- ing the left corner and able to pick it off on his third ball. Meanwhile, over in Midland, Dave Marcellus of the Tuesday Night 7up league was rolling up a storm by bowling a 983 tri- ple and an identical score of 393 single. Starting off with a spare and five strikes in a row, sparing up the sixth frame and coming back with five more strikes plus a head pin on his last ball, his other two games were 355 and 238. Big Shooters Tournament The Tournament high average bowlers have been asking for flat, score com- petition, being put on by the Midland and Penetang- uishene Five Pin Associa- tion. Entry fee is only $10 To enter, a bowler must be a member of the Association and can only enter in leagues where they purchased a card. Bowlers count their highest game bowled each week in league play over an eight week period from Sunday January 3 to Fri- day, February 26. Qualifiers for match play will have 60 Bowlers, the top 20 Midland bowlers, and the top 20 Penetang- uishene bowlers plus the next 20 highest scores from either centre. There will be $1075 in prize money play- off, $250 of the prize money being donated by the Association. So don't be left out, get your cards at the counter in Midland and Peneta nguishene. Other High Scores of the week: Rob Desroches of the Penetanguishene In- dustrial League with a 355 single and an 850 triple.
