The members of the club are thrilled to have learned and understood the impor- tance of proper food choices and criteria for evaluating good snacks, and learning to distinguish the difference between fruit juices, nectar and drinks. The Penetang 4-H members also compared flavor, texture and ap- pearance of fresh, frozen and canned fruits and vegetables. They ex- perimented with different methods of vegetable cook- ing, such as boiling, pann- ing, microwaving, steam- ing and stir-frying. They also learned how to make various vegetable. gar- nishes and _ enjoyed sprouting their own alfalfa seeds.
