Page > Wednesday, November 18, 1987 Great sisters --_~ The Big Sisters of Huronia held their annual meeting last Wednesday night at Freida's restaurant on King Street, Midland. Shown here are: board member Big Sisters need help Big Sisters of Huronia are in urgent need of help. Their office on Midland Avenue was forced to close because they could not raise the cash needed to keep it open. The annual cost is about $2,000 plus salary for a secretary. And they are also in desperate need of people: people to be Big Sisters, people to join as board members and people to help as fundraisers. As of now, there are 16 matched Little Sisters. But five others are on the waiting list with no Big Sister to look up to. The Huronia chapter covers a wide area, con- sisting of Midland, Penetanguishene, Elmvale, Lafontaine, Waubaushene, Port McNicoll, Victoria Harbour and the Town- ships of Tay and Tiny. Future fundraising ef- forts are planned, in- cluding a letter campaign to local businesses and professionals.
