The marchers will make their way to St. Mark's Anglican Church by way of Bay Street, King Street, and Hugel Avenue, returning by the same route after the rhubarb punch was made. Earlier in the month, the club's third meeting show- ed off an advertisement it designed for an Ontario fruit or vegetable. The Oct. 21 meeting (the club's third) was held at Linda Marchant's. Also at that meeting, club members made stir fry fall vegetables and examined the differences between boiled, steamed, microwaved and panned stir fry carrots. The next Ebenezer II 4-H meeting will be held Nov. 4. parade church service. On Nov. 11, Remem- brance Day, following the 11 a.m. service at the town's cenotaph, the Remembrance Day parade will leave for the Legion. For the first time the parade is one way instead of both ways. Some of the older marchers find walk- ing one way and down hill easier. Money reserved The money received from the recent sale of land in Midland's industrial park is being placed in a reserve fund. That money might be us- ed to complete Cranston Crescent, from its present western end to King Street, the town public works committee has suggested. Nebs, already an occu- pant, bought six acres in anticipation of expansion at a future time. One acre was sold to Wood's Ice Company Ltd. of Midland. One acre was sold to Weskel Machinery Sales Inc. of Rexdale. Obit ; Lorne Watson Lorimer Wilbert (Lorne) Watson of Midland died on Nov. 1, 1987. The noted photographer was age 82. The native of Toronto lived in Streetsville in his early years. His long photography career began Apr. 1, 1921 at age 16, as an employee of the Canada Post Card Company. Shortly afterward he started his own _ photo- finishing business in Hamilton. The business did not survive the Depression. He moved to Midland and opened Watson's Studio and Photofinishing on May 26, 1936. The name later became Wat- son's Studio and Camera Shop. The Watson Camera Shop was sold to Colin Ashworth in 1981 and the Watson Studio name was retired. Mr. Watson acquired the nickname Lorne when he moved to Midland. Mr. Watson was the of- ficial shipyard photographer during the Second World War. He was past director of the Professional Photo- graphers of Ontario. He was very active in Midland with years of ser- vice to such organizations as Caledonian Lodge 'No. 249 (where he served as Master); Midland and District Shrine Club (Presi- dent in 1955); Midland Lions Club; the Sea Cadet League. He helped the Red Cross, CNIB, and the Salvation Army with fundraising. For many years Mr. Wat- son was organist at Caledo- nian Lodge. He was a member of the Midland Golf and Country Club. He was an ac- complished snooker player. He was a special friend of Franz Johnston, artist of the famous Group of Seven painters. His wife the former Gladys Morden predeceas- ed him in 1981. He leaves to mourn him his daughter Peggy (Mrs. Ken Bou- chard) of Port Severn and his son Budd and his wife Lylie of Midland; sister Dora King of San Diego; grandchildren Heather Robinson of Brampton, Lynn (Mrs. Bill Deschamp) and Wendy (Mrs. Brian Dorion), both of Midland, and Kriss Watson of Wyebridge. Great grand- father of Stephen and Kimberley Dorion and Sherri and Laurie Deschamps. Funeral to be held at the Budd Watson Gallery, 520 Hugel Avenue, Midland, on Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. A service under the auspices of Caledonian Lodge No. 249 AF and AM was held on the evening of Nov. 2. Memorial donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Founda- tion would be appreciated. Paoe 16, Wednesday, November 4, 1987 Volunteer honoured Contact Information Centre volunteer Ken Wilson was honoured by Contact and Midland town council at the most recent council meeting. Councillor Carolyn White, the council representative to Contact, above, congratulated Wilson. Wilson ran the office last summer while Contact was managers.
