Peewees drop pair Midland Bell Canada Peewees suffered a pair of losses on the weekend that just as easily could have been a pair of victories. Elmvale Brown's Valu Mart skated to a 6 - 1 win Friday night over Bell Canada. Midland missed many scoring chances, most on the power play, as Elmvale was hit for 22 minutes in penalties to Midland' s eight. David Ferris accounted for Midland's goal with Sean Traynor and Sean Rourke assisting. Sunday afternoon, Midland Bell Canada Peewees hosted Stayner and were nipped 4 - 3 at the hands of their guests. Stayner notched a pair in the first before Trevor Quesnelle dented the twine from Adam Bourgeois and then David Ferris con- nected with the assists go- ing to Keith Duval and Dennis Maheu to knot the score at 2 - 2. Stayner regained the lead early in the third, but Adam Bourgeois drew Midland even once again with help from Ferris. With only two seconds showing on the clock in the third period, Pat Armstrong, Elmvale captain, beat Dean Scott in the Bell Canada net for the 4 - 3 victory. Times regain power Midland Times got back on the winning track last Saturday in Midland Minor Hockey Peewee House League action by virtue of a 5-3 victory over Midland Police. The victory was a team effort with only Jim Col- man absent due to an injury. Police jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 11:10 mark of the first period with a tally off the stick of James Kranz. Sean Lavin gave Midland Times a 1-1 tie at 8:37 with Tyler Gravel assisting. The Times exploded for 'three consecutive tallies in the second as Gravel con- nected at 9:32 from Terry Waltenbury before Walten- bury connected 80 seconds later from Gravel. Mike Besley completed their se- cond period scoring at 5:04 with an unassisted marker.
