Sainte-Marie recorded a 7.25 per cent increase in at- tendance this summer. Special programs like Candlelight Tours (spon- sored by the Friends of Sainte-Marie) and Les Jours d'ete were fully booked. The reconstructed Jesuit mission remains open un- til Oct. 13. Hours have been revised to better suit autumn travellers, Sainte- Marie will open at 10 a.m. and will close at 4:30 p.m. with the last admission at 3:30 p.m. On weekdays from Sept. 2 till Sept. 19, there will be no costumed interpreters within the palisades but visitors will be offered special tours hourly, starting at 10:30 a.m. There will be costumed interpreters on site each autumn weekend, and Police continue Port investigation Police are still in- vestigating a number of break-ins in the Port MeNicoll area which oc- curred within a three block radius of each other two weeks ago. A youthful offender was charged with Break and Enter after a search war- rent, conducted by the Midland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, at a house in the Port produced property St. Paul's At St. Paul's United Church, Midland, for September and October, the Reverend Ralph Gill- ingham will hold service at 11 a.m. taken in a break and enter last week. In Penetanguishene, the Historical Naval and Military Establishments closes to the public on Labour Day. Hundreds of school children from Sim- coe County will participate in educational programs which begin on Sept. 15. Area visitors responded enthusiastically to summer programs at the Establishments. The Sailor's Sunset Sail- Training Adventure, spon- sored by the Establishments Heritage Association and Labatt's, makers of Schooner Beer, was fully booked. It in- troduced more than 350 landsmen to the lure of a 19th-century sailing vessel. Time Spinners, designed for youngsters, welcomed 105 more children in 1986 than in the previous summer. Two special events re- main on the Huronia Historical Parks calendar. At Sainte-Marie on Oct. 11 and 12, an arts and crafts show and sale will write finis to an exciting season. Christmas at the Establishments is an an- nual tradition in Penetanguishene. It will once again be part of the community's seasonal calendar.
