Coldwater Bridge Club M. once: SHAW The ACBL Individual Coldwater Club Championship held in the Coronation Room of the Coldwater Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion on March 17 resulted in an excellent game with a good at- tendance. The winners, in general, were com- pletely different from the winners of a similar game held a few weeks ago, emphasizing the diversity entailed in individual tournaments. The new winner was Ross Hawkins, from Victoria Harbour, who, with his wife, Sheila, have been sharpening their bridge skills in the sunny south. His score was 80.5. Scores of the remainder of the players were Stan Frankland tied with Dot Harris, 76.5 each; Friedel Shaw 73.5; Georgie Waterson 71; Iris Bolyea, George Kingsborough 70; Dorothy Pheasant 68; Sid Gibson, Dac Harris, Mary Bell all tied with 66 each; Jean McLeod 63; Rea Kingsborough 62.5; Tim Latondress, Less Bell 62; Stan Love 61.5; Angela Gibson 60.5; Dave Parker, Jim Hughes 59.5; Helen Medvickis, Bill Osborne 59; Mary Love 57; Sheila Hawkins 56; Ruth Osborne, Frances Barrett 54; Lloyd Attridge 50.5; Lettie Murray, Bob Emo 50. The "Home Style'"' Contract Bridge held in the afternoon resulted in a win by Lloyd Attridge, Bob Emo with 66 Vic- tory Points, with Harold Snow, Iris Bolyea tied with Ross and Sheila Hawkins with 65; Mari Smith, Friedel Shaw 61: Stan Mary Dave Parker, Frankland 65; Polkinghorne, Verna Williams 44. Midland Minor Scoccer, Tennis Club, Minor Lacrosse, Midland Bay Sailing Clubs Sailing School, Georgian Bay Rowing Society, a one week Soccer Camp and the Recreation Departments Summer programs are making it convenient for your to register and/or ask questions at the same time and place. All of these organizations will be holding registrations at the Midland Civic Centre. Minor Soccer - three age groups for Soccer for boys and girls ages five to 11 years. Programs start April 29 and will run until June 25. Registration fee is $10 per child. 2. Tennis Club - newly formed organization to provide Tennis for players of all ages and _ interests. Programs for Junior (12 years and_ under), Intermediates (13 to 18 years) and Adults (19 and over). Features organized play, regular court time, local fun tournaments and the opportunity to meet new people in a_ friendly game of Tennis. vg Spring! Georgian Bay Rowing Society - This recently formed group is dedicated to the promotion and development of Rowing in' Huronia. The Society's prime focus is to encourage the growth of recreational rowing for people of all ages and. in doing so, of- fering a program for people of all skills levels. 4. Sailing School - Full day courses will run throughout the summer for two week periods. An evening class wili be run two night a week for five weeks. Courses are oper to anyone from the age of 10 years and up. The Instructor follows the National Learn-to- Sail proficiency stan- dards in a_ program which makes learning to sail both fun and ex- citing, while main- taining a high safety standard. 5. Minor Lacrosse - A number of teams are being organized for boys and girls ages 5 years to 19 years. New players are welcome to join and enjoy one of Canada's oldest sports. Teams will participate in local leagues and more in- formation is available at registration. 6. Soccer Camp - A week long Soccer Camp for Boys and Girls ages seven to 10 years is tentatively planned for July 7 to ll.
