a NE ASR -Gutdoors-- --"-- by Bryan Berriaulr- If 1985 is any indication of things to come, '86 should be a bumper year for fishermen in the area. No less than two fishermen from the area have ended up in the top 10 of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters Molson Big Fish Contest. What adds even more class to their finish is the fact that both fish were entered in the live release categories. Both fish entered are still in the swim to reproduce and fight another day. Most muskie fishermen would hang a four-foot muskie on the wall for all to see but not Jeff Golisky. His 48-inch-long muskie with a 22.50 girth was good enough to finish 10th overall in the Molson Big Fish Con- test. Golisky is not about to give away his secret fishing hole other than the fish was caught in Georgian Bay in the Severn Sound area. A Toronto angler finished 13th with a muskie from the same area. Could be a honey hole for big muskies. For those who think Little Lake is fished out better think again. This year's winner in the live release category came from none other than our little gem. Mike Brammall from Midland, who literally lives on the lake, was waving around a spinner bait when the winning fish took hold. The winning largemouth bass measured in with a 22 inch girth and stretching out the tape to 24 inches in length. Most bass fishermen only dream of catching these giants. With this bucketmouth back in the swim it alone could become a tourist attraction at Little Lake. It's not easy finishing in the top 15th of the Molson Big Fish Contest. This fishing contest is open to all fishermen in Ontario and draws plenty of entries. First place finishers receive $150 in cash plus an Evinrude electric trolling motor and a Mitchell rod and reel. Number two receives $100 with third picking up $50. All top 15 finishers receive a Mitchell rod and reel. Entry forms can be picked up at most sport shops. These entry forms will give you all the required in- formation and every angler meeting the minimum size requirements for the class will be awarded a Michael Dumas print and a_ personalized certificate of participation in the Molson Big Fish Contest. Well, with '86 here it gives every angler something to shoot for. Even the angler who releases his fish has a chance in this contest. I can't wait for open water. Happy New Year from my clan to yours! there are a number of experienced players who will gladly teach you the basics of the * game.
