Sod-turning ceremony at Waubaushene school renee GOUETT A number of local dignitaries were on hand yesterday morning for a ground breaking ceremony at Waubaushene Public School. Simcoe County Board of Education trustee, Roy Edwards, along with Grade 1 student Travis Cronin and Student Council President Carrie Archer, shared the honours of turning the first soil for a new gymnasium to be constructed on the site. According to Edwards, the board gave its approval to the - project in early September for the general purpose building that will also house a new office for the school principal. Edwards says, he hopes the community will also take advantage of the $291,000 facilities that will be open to the public after school hours. The trustee anticipated the expansion of the school will be completed by the end of February unless the Dilas Construction Company of Downsview hired to build the gymnasium, runs into problems.
