Hortense Maurice The late Hortense Maurice of Lafontaine died suddenly in her home on Sept. 29, 1985, at the age of 70 years. Mrs. Maurice was born and raised in Perkinsfield and lived most of her life in Lafortaine. She was a member of Les Dames de Ste. Anne de Lafontaine, La Vie Montante de Lafontaine, and le Club de l'age d'or de Lafontaine. Her funeral mass was held in Ste.-Croix Church, Lafontaine, on Oct. 2, with Rev. J. Sullivan officiating, assisted by Msgr. A. --Obituary- Belanger. Interment was in Ste.- Croix Cemetery, Lafontaine. Maurice & Raymond Dube, David Desroches, Armand Maurice, Dominique & Conrad DesRoches, all grandsons were her pallbearers. Honorary pall bearer & flower bearer was grandson Gerard Desroches. Sons Paul, Lionel, Gerard and Michel, all of Perkinsfield, Albert of Lafontaine, daughters Lucille (Mrs. Emile Dube) of Waterloo, Anita Maurice & Lucie (Mrs. Andre Forget) of Cambridge, Rosita (Mrs. Gerald DesRoches), Jeanne (Mrs. Gabriel Desroches), & Simone (Mrs. Antoine Forget), all of Lafontaine, brothers Emery and Basile Lesperance of Perkinsfield, Joseph Lesperance of Midland, sisters Theresa (Mrs. George Leonard Martin The death occurred on Oct. 11, 1985 at Huronia District Hospital of George Leonard Martin, of 403 Russell St., Midland. The late Mr. Martin was in his 79th year and had been ill health for the past six years. Born in Flos Township to Robert and Agnes (Hamilton) Martin, he attended Flos Township 2nd line school. In 1942 in Hillsdale, Ont., he married Ella M. White., and from 1942 until 1963 his occupation was that of a farmer. --Obituary- In 1963, he was employed by A. Barrie and Sons, until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of the Hillsdale United Church, and St. Paul's United Church in Midland. The late Mr. Martin is survived by his wife Ella, and daughter Margaret Jean. He is also. survived by brothers, Robert of Coldwater; Roy of Oakville and James of Elmvale, and by his sister Ruth White of Midland. He was predeceased by two nieces Mae Ronald and Marion Stott. Funeral was held on Oct. 14, 1985 at the James H. Lynn Funeral Home in Midland, with Rev. Francis Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillsdale, United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers included: nephews George Stott Herbert Ladouceur Father L. Dignard officiated at the funeral mass for the late Herbert Ladouceur, Oct. 115k S. Mr. Ladouceur passed away at Penetanguishene General Hospital, Oct. 8, 1985 following a brief illness. He was in his 76th year. The late Mr: Ladouceur had been a resident of Penetanguishene all his life and had resided at 136 Robert St., West. The funeral mass was held at St. Ann's. Pallbearers were: Doug Lorette, Mark, Ronald and Roland -Obituary--- Ladouceur, Jerry Jones, and Pat Bechard. He was predeceased by his wife Lorette in 1976. Mr. Ladouceur leaves behind daughters: Mrs. Doris Marchildon of Tiny Township, Betty (Mrs. Paul Lorette) of Penetanguishene, and Linda (Mrs. Joe Beaudoin) of Lafontaine, and sons, Douglas of Northwest Basin, Richard of Sunnyside, James of Midland, Larry of Obituary Stanley Playne The funeral of Stanley Playne was held on Oct. 17, 1985, in the Martin Funeral Home, Penetanguishene, with Rev. A. Farthing officiating. Mr. Stan (Buck) Playne passed away in Huronia District Hospital on Oct. 15 after a lengthy illness. He was in his 69th year. Mr. Playne was a resident of the Penetanguishene- Midland area all his life and was a former employee of the Midland and Collingwood Shipyards. Interment was in St. James on the lines Cemetery, Penetanguishene. Pallbearers included Ernie Coates, Marc Desroches, Cleo Gignac, Serge Jeannotte and Robert Knudsen, all sons-in-law, and grandson David Desroches. Stanley Playne leaves his wife Elva (Marchand) Playne, daughters Linda (Mrs. Ernie Coates) of Owen Sound, Ruth Ann (Mrs. Serge Jeannotte), Peggy (Mrs. Robert Knudsen), both of Midland, Jean (Mrs. Marc Desroches) and Janet (Mrs. Cleo Gignac), both of Lafontaine, and sons Alan of Midland, Jack of Perkinsfield, Charles of Sunnyside, and Bill of Penetanguishene, Stanley Playne also leaves behind brothers Charles and Bill of Penetanguishene. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Stanley Playne was pre-deceased by sisters Carrie Gendron and Gertrude Gammon, and brother Frank Playne. Calgary, Earl of Port MeNicoll and Ross of Penetanguishene. He is also survived by sisters:' Mrs. Marie Desroches, Mrs. Freda Windrum, Mrs. Celina Bechard, Mrs. Alma Bazinet, Mrs. Jeannette Mason and Mrs. Rita Lacroix all of Penetanguishene; Urbain Maurice) & Marie (Mrs. Lionel Quesnelle), both of Midland, Mrs. Olive Murton, Mrs. Irma Beauchamp, Albertine (Mrs. Gabriel Desroches), Lucia (Mrs. John Milne), all of Perkinsfield, Leona (Mrs. Bernard Laurin) of - Lafontaine, 35 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren, survive her. Her husband Gerard Maurice died in 1983. Her parents were George & Mary Jane (Mayer) Lesperance. Her brother Martin also predeceased her. of Wyevale and Gary Ronald of Penetang. Also George Fleming of Elmvale, Morley Minty also of Elmvale, cousin Bob Widdis of Midiand and Don McGrath of Elmvale. Honorary pallbearers included brothers Robert, Roy and James Martin, cousin, John Isaac of Midland, and friends Albert Jackson of Stayner and Jack Rumble of Hillsdale. Soloist was Fred Hammore, the Hymn, Sweet Hour of Prayer, was sung by the congregation. sisters Mrs. Cecile Hilliard and Mrs. Helen White both of Midland, and brothers John and Norman Ladouceur of Penetanguishene. Mr. Herbert Ladouceur is_ also survived by 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers Arthur and Philip.
