------$ ~ Orser says he felt he skated well at Tokyo Brian Orser finished just 0.7 points behind Alexander Fedeev to place second at the NHK International Figure Skating Meet in Tokyo last Saturday. Orser, who phoned relatives in _ his hometown of Penetang, said he felt that he had skated well during the two event com- petition. At the meet, only the long and short free- style figures were judged. The compulsory figures was absent from the meet. Orser had been critisized for a fall while attempting a triple axle in the long figures, but reports that Fedeev had fallen three times in the meet never reached Canada. Brian's brother, Robert, noted, Brian had not had any problems performing the triple" axle in the past. He also felt that Brian will Pr now compete with a vengeance and skate more aggressively now that he placed second to Fedeev. Orser who won the Skate Canada Com- petition and the silver medal at the Sarajevo Olympics was ranked first in the world after Scott Hamilton of the United States retired. Janice, Brian's sister, said she feels that the pressure might have affected Brian's performance. Now that Fedeev won the Tokyo meet the pressure will be on him and less on Brian in the next competition she added. Grser was scheduled to have been back early Tuesday morning, but fog conditions at Toronto International Airport delayed his arrival making him unavailable for com- ment.
