Grizzlies played a strong game on offence and defence and the result was a 5-0 victory for Elmvale. Jason Stone and Andrew Giffen cleared the puck effectively from their zone for the entire game. Stone earned two assists and Giffen had one. Scott Belcourt also was quite steady along the Elmvale blueline. His defensive partner, Jason Cowan, helped to set up Elmvale's first goal. Jamie Jacobs earned the shutout by making several sparkling saves throughout the game. Matthew Wickett scored two goals and had an assist. The second period was closer with each team having lots of opportunities to score but Mark Therrien finally succeeded, unassisted with 1:25 left in the period. Elmvale wins 6-1 Last Saturday the Elmvale Sporting Goods Novice team beat the Coldwater Novice team 6-1. Both teams played a very good game with all the boys putting forth an excellent effort.
