RANDY a Perkinsfield Commodore Hotel Bantus put innings of fastball against Wyevale Hawks, Monday evening, in Wyevale, in Simeoe Rural Fastball League together seven solid action. . It paid off for Bantus, as they scored an 8-5 decision over Wyevale. brothers', Ernie and Andre, did an excellent job on the mound for Perkinsfield. Ernie got the win while Andre recorded the save, coming On in relief in the sixth inning. Bob Lapham took the loss for Hawks. Perkinsfield opened the scoring in the first inning, with Shane Downer starting the game with a double. He later scored, on Gord Dusome's grounder through the infield. Wyevale scored three times in the bot- tom half of the first. Steven Hall reached base On an error. Two conseculive singles by Kirk Ure and Terry King (Hall scored on King's single) gave Wyevale base runners on first and second. Bob Lapham tripled, which drove home both Hawk base runners and gave them a 3-! lead. Perkinsfield, however, finished. Rob Wilson opened the second inning with a walk. Wilson was forced Out at second on Ernie Quesnelle's grounder to third. The Quesnelle was not quite Kevin Belcourt singled, moving Quesnelle {o second. With two out, Shane Downer singled, driving in Quesnelle and Belcourt. Doug Fox reached base on an error. James Dupuis doubled, driving in Downer and Fox and more importantly, it gave Perkinsfield a 5-3 lead. _ However, Wyevale drew within one run in the bottom of the second. Brad Bumstead reached base on an error and advanced to second on an infield out. He later scored on Brad Maurice's single to centre field. The see-saw scoring continued in the fifth inning, with both teams scoring one run each. Perkinsfield's, James Dupuis reached second on a ground ball error. A sacrifice fly by James Lefaive, moved him to third and he scored on Gary Watson's single. Once again, Wyevale closed the margin to witht in One run, Steven Hall tripled Terry King's infield out and later scored on Perkinsfield clinched the game when they added two runs in the sixth inning. Kevin Belcourt singled, Andre Quesnelle also singled and both came home on Shane Downer's third hit of the game, Both Downer and Belcourt each had three hits on the night. League scoring leader Peter Robillard scored three times and added one~ assist, while line mate Greg St. Amant scored once and had four assists for the Diggers. Midland's offense shone, on this night, as they used the long ball to determine the out- come of the contest. Kim Ormiston hit a solo shot in the first inning. In Midland's four run second inning, three of the four runs scored, were a result of Firebird round-trippers. Bruce Guthrie hit a two run homer and Bill Richardson added a solo home run, which gave the Birds a 5-0 lead. Wyebridge scored their only run of the game in the second inning. Midland third baseman, Dave Sarson, played a super game, hitting a triple and a double and sparkled, with some great defence. Midland out hit Wyebridge 12-9 and both teams each had one error. In the first contest, two goals by Brad Copeland and one each from Jack Mitchpeter, Brendon Crowley and Brian Rambler paced John Desroches Con- struction Ltd. Block- busters to a 5-3 victory over Mr. Car Wash. Al Whidden, Brian Garner and Rick Rever replied for Car Wash. Performance Motor Sports scored four limes, with seven minutes remaining to lake a 7-6 lead over S, Charlebois Diggers, however, Mike Duval tied the score with :53 seconds left, to force a 7- all tie. Greg St. Amant had four goals and three assists and Peter Robillard netted two goals and four assists for the Diggers. Kirk Swales' scored three times for Per- formance, with Tom Hook, Carl Weber and Peter Wright adding singles. The final game of the evening saw Huronia Optical Hawks outscore E & R Discount Outlaws 6-2. Bryan Lethbridge led the way with two goals, while Blea ier McReynolds, Bill Ladouceur, Terry King and Lyle Buttineau netted singles. Keith St. Amant and Brian Bellisle notched E & R's goals. Shane Asselin, Robbie Haley, and Greg Lalonde were the three sharpshooters for the Bay. Replying for Stoneleigh Motors was Trevor Irvine. In the other Peewee game, four different scorers led Stewarts Gulf past the Penetang 1.G.A., 4-2. These scorers. were Scott and Chris Bales, Joel Heins and Mike Waltenbury. For The Driftwood, Mike Boyd potted two, and Scott Galt had a goal and an assist. Adam Bourgeois struck for four goals to lead Bourgeois Motors over R & R Sports 6-0.
