The Gervan Davy boys didn't quit and took the lead again 9-8 in the top of the seventh, but the Barrie squad dug in and plated two more with one out to win the game. Midland finally in this game and although only five dropped in for singles, the contact was there with a season low of only six strikeouts against Barrie pitching this year. The bats continued making contact Saturday morning when Penetang came to visit, as the Gervan Davy boys pounded out nine hits en route to an 8-1 victory. Craig Dempsey had a perfect day al the plate with three singles and a walk. Jason Nicoll went two for three with a triple and a single and Chris Kinnear had a double. Other three hits were singles by three dif- ferent players. Midland pitching was very effective limiting Penetang to two hits.
