Employees of the Sportsman Motor Inn in Victoria Harbour were told this week they will be paid for their two weeks' work ending last Friday on March 31. Last Thursday the employees were told that the Inn was closing, and to return the next day to get their pay cheques, says' Inn housekeeper Linda Cavelaire. No cheques were given on Friady, she said. _ Renovation was given as the reason for the Inn closing. Reynolds Mastin was the owner of the Inn last March, and William Player's Kilderkin Investments was the Inn's manager. Coopers, Lybrand, a provincial receiver appointed by _ the province, was _ in- vestigating Kilderkin. The 17 employees of the Inn on March 22, 1983, were informed they would be laid off.
