Pre ere RNR a ERAT OFSSA eludes MSS skiers MSS Boys Alpine Ski Team had two ex- tremely difficult days of racing with very stiff competition in the OFSSA Alpine _ Ski championships in Ottawa, On Feb. 23 and 24th. Team scores seemed hard to come by since three racers had to finish each race. Thursday's giant slalom over heavily mogulled terrain saw Mark Kitching in 33rd spot and Traver Gammell in 65th, out of 128 racers cOmpeting. With only two racers finishing the Midland Team placed 23rd out of 32 teams. Friday's slalom event was held On a long, steep icy course with Mark Kitching in 37th spot and Brad Kitching in 57th ut Of 128 racers. Unfortunately Traver Gammel! and Mike Ross had D.Q.'s and therefore again we had problems getting a team score. The two day com- petition was won by Georgian Bay Secon- dary School from Meaford and the best boys team in Ontario is Collingwood Collegiate whom we have com- peted against all year and done well. Unfortunately the difficult courses took their toll of many a racer. However, the ex- perience gained will never be forgotten. Thanks to students council and the physical Ed. Dept. for all your financial help. I hope the quiz wasn't too difficult! See ya Friday! NOW pen L&E FIX-IT SHOP Saws, small Appliances, Knife Sharpening & Baby Carriages.
