Midland Council Briefs: Last Bicentennial Organized by the Midland Rotary Club, was a 'tremendous success,' according to Midland's mayor. Heather was --Photo by Elaine Ornsby Georgian Bay Drama Festival winners go to regional show The high schools in the Georgian Bay District will be holding their annual Drama Festival on Feb. 22, 23, 24, and 25 at Walkerton Town Hall, Walkerton. It is One of twenty-five such festivals held throughout the province each year to provide a showease for the dramatic talents of students and teachers. Student achievement at the festival will be recognized in the presentation of awards provided by Sears Limited, sponsor of the Ontario-wide festival. These will be given for outstanding --_ producti- Ons, Outstanding _ per- formances, and Oout- standing technical achievement. There is also an adjudicator's award, which may be presented to an _ in- dividual or group. In addition, the ad- judicator may select a number of deserving students to receive Awards of Merit for acting or other theatrical achievement. The winners of the Georgian Bay Festival will be invited to par- ticipate in the O.C.D.F. Regional Showcase to be held in Kingston on April 5, 6, and 7. . Other schools par- ticipating in the Kingston Regional Showcase will represent the Durham, Kawartha, Kingston-St. Lawrence, Ottawa, and Seaway Districts.
