Local Georgian graduates More than 200 graduates received their graduation diplomas at the winter convocation ceremonies held in the Georgian College Threatre in Barrie On Saturday, Jan. 28. This was the first time in Georgian's 17 year history that a convocation ceremony was held in the winter. The large group of students graduating from Georgian's c0-0p programs made the winter convocation necessary. Among those graduating can be found many local residents who should be congratulated for their accomplishment. He underwent heart surgery some months ago. _ Mr. Earl Fagan has been recuperating from injuries suffered from a fall at his home some time ago. Friends and neigh- bours are sorry to learn Mr. Boyd Brown is again a hospital patient. He underwent surgery recently. Sorry to report Mr. John Barr, 4 Esther Anne Drive, Orillia, collapsed at his home on Monday morning, Jan. 30, 1984, and was taken MIDLAND to Soldiers' Memorial hospital, Orillia. He was a resident of this area many years ago. A former area resident Mr. Donald Barr, RR 1 Hawkestone, is progressing well in S.M.H. where he has been a patient for some weeks. Mr. Leo Berthelotte, of Barrie, has been convalescing at his home following surgery some weeks ago. He, his wife and family were area residents for many years, living on the 5th concession of Medonte, where they Operated a farm. An accident Occurred on Feb. 3 at the Medonte Mountain Ski Resort parking lot. Cheryl Doman of Barrie, driver of a vehicle that ap- parently slid on a stretch of ice, crossed into the path of another vehicle driven by Frederick Duquette of Penetanguishene. The Doman vehicle sustained $2500 damage while the Duquette vehicle received only $50 damage. KKK Concession oF Medonte, north of County Road 19 was the site of an accident which took place on Feb. 3. Keith Newell of RR 1, Victoria Harbour, apparently lost control of his vehicle when it ------ Centennial celebration-- skidded on ice. The vehicle then apparently struck a snowbank and proceeded to roll over. While no charges were laid, a passenger, Teddy Newell, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Huronia District Hospital in Midland. An accident occurred on Feb. 6 on Highway 93 north of Hwy. 400. William Hill of Mississauga was the driver of a _ vehicle which was apparently proceeding southbound. The driver reportedly attempted to make a right-hand turn to enter Highway 400 and decided he was going too fast to complete the turn. Hill apparently then Sunday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. there will be a special service held at Wycliffe Anglican Church, Elmvale, to celebrate its 100th year in the community (1884-1984). Reverend Allen Kirk, former rector, will be guest speaker. Everyone is cordially invited to attend this very special Occasion. Reverend Hunter at St. John's Reverend Gordon Hunter will be in the pulpit at St. John's United Church, Elmvale, for both Sunday Feb. 12 and Feb. 19. While $400 damage was done to the Hill vehicle, Pelletier's vehicle sustained $3000 damage. Hill has been charged with excess alcohol.
