F.W.I.C. hopes to raise $50,000 in the next few years for supporting this wor- thwhile endeavour. Plans to cater for Elmvale Legion Banquet in November were discussed. Mrs. Reg' Truax presented the 4-H girls, who are sponsored by Allenwood W.1., with awards for their achievements. Verna Trace was Contois wins Gerrard Contois of 40 | Sess. Penetanguishene, won the fire extinguisher which was a door prize presented with an engraved tray for 4-H advanced honours, this being 18 units. Theresa Toner and Tina Lalonde each with six units, were presented with pins, the flower emblem _ of Ontario, Mrs. Stewart Palmer was in charge of the program on, Canadian Industries. She gave a very interesting paper on Reinhart's Vinegar of Stayner and also the processing of Marachino cherries. Many useful hints using vinegar were given, also some recipes. The meeting was adjourned and lunch was served by the hostess, assisted by Verna Trace and Mrs. Percy Sims. Bird migrations are taking place very day, with many flocks of Canada Geese wending their way southward. One flock was noticed flying north instead. Could that mean something? The black- birds and redwings have been gathering in huge flocks for days and their migrations are something to see when the flocks all get together and pass any given area in a seemingly endless stream which can last for thirty minutes or longer.
