The project was funded jointly by Environment Canada, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Tay Township and the Village of Victoria Harbour. Federal and Provincial funds were provided under the Canada- Ontario Agreement to clean up the Great Lakes. The new treatment plant will produce a significant improvement in the water quality of Severn Sound, on Georgian Bay. The plant is built with the capacity to serve a population of 4,000, and will be able to accomodate future growth in the area, which now has a population of 1,800. eCont. on Page 6 School board holds Its position on shop's location On Wednesday a recommendation _ that the Simcoe County Board of Education change its direction that Ecole Secondaire Le Caron students go to, Ecole Secondaire Penetanguishene Secondary School for woodworking was rejected by the trustees. The trustees rejected another --recommend- ation from the local French Language Advisory Committee. that a shop be added to remain in ESPSS, until Le Caron, and that in [Je Caron's second the interim, that Le semester starts. Caron's_ principal If at that time Le arrange for Le Caron students to take shop in the community. Although Le Caron students who signed up for shop last spring boycotted going to ESPSS when the school year started, last week, the equipment moved to the school from Midland's Parkview School for their use will Caron students again boycott ESPSS, the equipment will be removed. The Le Caron students are taking other sub- jects in place of woodworking. The teacher hired to teach them is teaching drafting, and other subjects as assigned by Le Caron's principal.
