Hawks finished their season on Monday night also, as they dropped a 9-1 decision at home to the Elmvale Mets. Tim Belcourt took the win for the Mets, as they too kept alive flickering playoff aspirations. Bob Lapham was the loser. Mets have five wins and two ties in 17 games for 12 points in the league schedule. Only Mets, Perkinsfield, Wyevale, and Vasey Royals have completed the scheduled 20 game season. The rest of the league is trying to finish playing rained out games from earlier in the season before they start the playoffs. Races for the top spot and the final playoff spots are hotly con- tested in the SRFL this year. Midland Athenian Raiders trail top-ranked Phelpston Hotel Phillies by three points, 30 to 27 with two games to play each.
