E A Northumberland County resolution that the provincial govern- ment be asked to assume responsibility for funding of education, or, failing that, that the school boards arrange to collect their own taxes, has been referred to Midland's finance committee. Huron Park Public School principal John Soden, ina letter to town public safety committee chairman Bob Jeffery, praised Staff-Sergeant Donald Johnston for helping to apprehend students stealing money in the school. The staff- sergeant went to the school on his day off, Soden said. a a ll Lynn and Bob Cumberland have restored an old three- story Hillsdale home and begun a crafts and antiques business there this summer, called Cumberland's Country Crafts and Gifts. _ The house, which they believe dates back to 1886, has been restored from top to bottom since they bought it in October.
