Program - introduction to brass The Brass Company is featured in the final & performance of the Kitchikewana Festival Series ; : } ie : \ ' ; \ a at Midland Secondary School, April 15, at 8. Ai Xe di Wis 13% Tickets may be purchased at MSS during the day prior to the performance. The Brass Company features George Stimpson, French horn; James Spragg. trumpet; and John Dowden, trombone. Ken Woods, chairman of the Festival com- mittee. reports that the premiere series this year has been well received and plans are now well underway for the 1983 84 series. Next year's series of performances will be released next Friday during the Brass Company's performance. The Brass Company program provides a good introduction to the brass instruments, as well as providing a wide variety of music. The pieces range in style from the Renaissance to the 20th Century, including folk music and the latest pop tunes as an extra treat. Woven between the pieces is an entertaining and educational demonstration of the instruments Some insights into various aspects of each piece of music is also given. The trio encourages audience participation throughout the program. The following selections will provide the basis for the program.
