ROM visit Midland Secondary School offers special enrichment classes to students who have done exceptionally well in their academic studies. The Grade 9 enrich- ment class in history and the Grade 10 enrich- ment class in geography recently visited Toronto to see a program at the McLaughlin __ Planeta- rium and to tour the Royal Ontario Museum. At the Planetarium the two classes and their teachers, Mr. Pat Gruber and Mr. Mike Miller, saw a program about the sky as un- derstood throughout the ages and as we see it from Earth during the seasons of the year. This interesting program showed how the ancient Greeks developed the signs of the Zodiac. It also used time-lapse cameras to reveal and make _in- telligable the star patterns as seen from South to North in Canada throught the seasons. At the Royal Ontario Museum, the students were treated to a tour of the newly re-opened galleries. They also veiwed the special exhibition of the paintings of Canadian wildlife artist Robert Bateman. Cost of the trip was paid in part by the profits made by students who par- ticipated in the citrus fruit sale last autumm. Silver medallist!
