Meaford wins Div. 3 Tankard Southern Ontario Ladies Curling Association Tankard Divisional Champio- nship for Division Three vas held at Midland Curling Club on Tuesday, March 8. Division three is made up of districts, nine, 10, 11 and 12. Meaford represented district nine, while Stroug is in district 10, Parry Sound, 11, and Oakwood, from near Lindsay, is from district 12 The curlers played a double-rink competi- tion. This means that two teams from one district played two teams from another, and the two games were combined with the total scores counting. In the first game Meaford beat Oakwood 13-12. The skips for Meaford were Helen Miller and Olive Richardson. 'Skippi- ng" for Oakwood was Brenda Moynes and Nancy Hanna. In the second game Stroud beat Parry Sound 15-12. The win- ning skips for Stroud were Penny Bassett and Cathy McFadden, while the skips for Parry Area 3 junior girls B-ball won by Regent Last Friday evening, the Area 3 junior girls' basketball tournament held at St. Theresa's High School for elementary schools was won by Regent School. Teams from Huron Park, Parkview, Bayview, Port MeNicoll and Regent competed in the round-robin play. Parkview won the B pool of play with two lopsided victories.
