Australian student's remark inspires Boudouris Australian Gay Cudmore was the in- spiration for the naming of Dock Lunch owner Nick Boudouris' new venture, the Memories Road House Restaurant, to open on Penetanguishene's Main Street next month. Cudmore spent a year here on a student exchange program, courtesy of the Midland Rotary Club. Just before returning to Australia, she visited the Dock Lunch and told Boudouris that she couldn't leave without a Dock Lunch hamburger. After Boudouris gave the teenager some mementoes, she became _ teary-eyed, Boudouris said, and she said that an occasion like that is what memories are made of. Four people who entered names in the contest to name the restaurant will be getting a free dinner for four. Over 3,000 names were suggested. Jim and Jeannette Tracey of Penetanguishene, Russell Moreau of RR 1, Wyevale, Shari Jeffery of Midland, and Earl McBurney of Penetanguishene each have won a dinner for four. The Traceys in addition won $100. Boudouris favoured the name Yesterday, which four people suggested. Boudouris was thinking of the book published last year to mark the town's centennial. Unfortunately, the name is already in use elsewhere and protected. The Traceys' suggestion of Memory Lane was the entry closest to Memories. More draws were held to select the three other winners. belief in the need for development. (Monday to Friday) nesday night, the Malibus of the Simcoe County Women's Volleyball League, started the evening very slowly losing to Barrie in two straight games 4- 15 and 1-15. Malibus missed setter Jean Goodrow when she suffered an ankle injury during the first game. Midland looked sharp in the second match with Cookstown. Some excellent serving and spiking culminated in two straight wins. The final scores of the games were 15-3 and 15- 13. Darlene Paul con- tributed to several fine attacks set up by setter Sue Presse. Louise Zurawski and Chris McCullough executed some excellent tips to the corners. As the season nears its close, the Malibus look like a promising team for the playoffs. Malibus next league game is March 2 in Bradford.
