ESPSS news and views ---------------------~ by ANDREA DAULT Mike Pilon is a Midget basketball player who is often credited for being the team's top scorer. Last Thursday the basketball teams played against Barrie Central. Mike played ex- ceptionally well and personally made 28 points for his team. This is a school record for a Midget player and a personal best for Mike. Keep up the great work Mike! By the way, the final score for that game was 54-37 in our favour. The Junior team also won with 60-45. Dave Bayfield was the top scorer with 20 points. Our perfect winning streak was un- fortunately stopped by the Seniors who lost with the score 77-72. Paul Balabuck added 15 points to the cause, and Doug Cozy added 14. These same teams also played on Tuesday, Jan. 18 against Barrie Eastview. Mike Pilon was again the best scorer with 15 points but, it wasn't quite enough. The Eastview team took home _ the victory with the score 54-37. The Junior team won in-their game with the score 51-47. The Seniors their match with score 52-44. Lorne Marcille personally added 14 points for his team. These basketball teams will be hosting their arch enemies (Midland) on Thursday. Obituary Ada Vera : Adamson The death occurred on Jan. 15, 1983 in Huronia District Hospital, of Ada Vera Adamson. The resident of 442 Midland Avenue, Midland, age 80, had been ill for two months. Her son Ralph Frederick Adamson, and her brother Frank Livingstone and her sisters Emma (Mrs. W. Arnold) and Florence Lamb, survive her. She had three grand- children.
