Moreau's from last Sunday's playoff game for rink topped Annette St.Amant's rink Ron Johnson * Sports Editor * Kings tie Or by Ron Johnson "How quickly the tide can turn." That was coach Ron Marchildon's reaction to Penetanguishene Kings' 4-4 tie with Oro 77's in Oro on Wednesday night. Kings played well enough to win, out- shooting their hosts by a 2-1 ratio, but just couldn't seem to find the net. They were also victimized by the post brothers, left and right, on a couple of occasions. States Marchildon, "It just seems that things have begun to swing the other way for us now. We had things (momentum) going in our direction for 12 games, and now it appears to be against us."' Carl Cowan returned to Kings' lineup for the first time this season for Wednesday's game and scored his first Junior C goal of the year. Cowan will also see action against Midland this Sunday afternoon when Cen- tennials invade Penetanguishene Arena for a 3:30 p.m. affair. Cowan's role on the team is underlined by the coach. "What Carl] does best is put the puck in the net, and that's what we're asking him to do. The rest of his game is not his strong suit anyway." Other goal scorers for Kings were John Monague, Calvin Sine, and_ Brian McReynolds. There could easily have been more goals were it not for the sometimes unconscious work by the Oro netminder. Royalties...Marchildon stresses the fact that any of the top four teams in the south division can beat any other contender...He points to Midland's win over Essa, after Kings had been beaten rather badly by the 80's on Sunday, to illustrate his point...whichever team gets hot at the end will grab first place...Dave Robillard sat out Wednesday's game but will return for the Midland game...Greg St.Amant has one more game to go on his suspension...Kings report no major injuries, and will probably be back to their normal selves in the next couple of games...it will be interesting to see how the team as a unit responds to the presence of Cowan, and how they accept his temporary appearance.
