FLAC presented a motion to board members outlining their request to have Le Caron students continue to have workshops in the community rather than at ESPSS. Along with the FLAC represen- tatives, Le Caron students and parents spoke on behalf of the motion. They explained that the students were very satisfied with the arrangement of having workshops in the com- munity. "We didn't want to go back to PSS and stir up the unrest that there was in the past," said Basile Dorion, FLAC member. "'We understand that we're not really wanted there, and we don't blame them. They have a right to their own facilities." Community-based workshops can Ss pecial Reductions on : Pasumae Stereo... Portable Stereo... Elected SCBE members present were Joan Jensen, Paul Tremblay, and Peggy Dyment. The chairman made a point of expressing his annoyance that the meeting was conducted in French, Dorion reported. "'We*explained everything to them in English, and translated the motion and much of the discussion. More than 50 per cent of the meeting was held in English," said Dorion. It has been the policy of FLAC to hold meetings in French for two years. "After all, it is a French language organization," said Dorion.
