Ee _ Roe aceite ee ii se Earl Rowntree A member of the Village of Elmvale Council in the arly 1950's and a Royal Canadian Legion, Elmvale, member, Earl Edgar Rowntree, died Nov. 21, 1982, at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Orillia. He was 63 years of age at the time of his passing. Mr. Rowntree, late of 9 Lankin Boulevard, Orillia, was born in Flos Township, the son of the late Daniel and the late Frances Rowntree. He was a retired farmer and security guard. During the Second World War Earl Rowntree served in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Europe, winning medals _ bet- ween 1939 and 1945, including stars in Rowntree | France and Germany and the Canadian Voluntary Service Medal and Clasp. He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Hayes) Rowntree, his son Joseph of Elmvale, his daughters Lois (Mrs. Ed Ziemba) of Toronto and Phyllis (Mrs. Gene Moran) of Phelpston, and by his_ brothers William of Wasaga Beach and Harold of Elmvale, and by his sister Evelyn (Mrs. Reg Truax) of Elmvale. The late Rowntree' had grandchildren. His first wife, Gladys (Vollick) Rowntree, predeased him. Rev. S. Henderson officiated at the funeral held in Elmvale on Nov. 24. Penetanguishene, died on Dec. 8, 1982, in Wellesley Hospital, Toronto, at age 70, after a brief illness. The native of Hull, England, a former marine enjineer with the Patterson Steam- ship Line, was a veteran of the Second World service which was held Dec. 10 in the Beausoleil Funeral Home', Penetanguishene.
