During 1983 the church will mark its centennial. The first RC church in Midland, a frame building on the same site as the present St. Margaret's served followers from 1883 to 1912 when it was replaced by the present stone structure. A centennial souvenir book is being prepared which will contain a host of historical bits and pieces including a series of memorable photographs. Happy centennial St. Margaret's. The Victorian Christmas was one of four special events sponsored this year by the Simcoe County Museum. The others were a Spring Festival and Band Concert in May, Scottish Day in July, and Pioneer Day in September. The Simcoe County Museum will remain docorated until Dec. 31 and is open to the public every day from now until then except for Dec. 25- and 26. The museum is also closed Jan. 1.
