Nutritious with a capital N by Greg Fieghen and Bill Homewood Pizza, schnitzel, chow mein with rice: these were just a few of the foods that were served in the EDHS cafeteria last week. These foods were served because last week was Nutrition Week at EDHS and the cafeteria was featuring foods from all nations. All of the foods that were served contained something from each of the four groups of nutritional needs set by the health board. This is the second year that the cafeteria has done this and there is an excellent dresponsé from the students. The foods that were served came from Italy, Germany, China, and Canada, and we hope that it will continue for along time. In sports last week there were three basketball games played at Park Street School against E]mvale on Tuesday. The scores were as follows: Junior Elmvale 42 Park St. 26; Midget Park St. 31 Elmvale, 6; Senior Elmvale 49 Park St. 27 There were also two games on Thursday against St. Theresa's with Elmvale winning one of them. Elmvale Juniors won the first game by 46 to 24. St. Theresa's won the next game with a close score of 28 to 27 against Elmvale's Midgets. The students council is planning on having a Christmas Charity draw in which students bring in food and assorted toys. These are then given out to the needy families around the Elmvale community. The students council feels that this will really help out the community. - On Friday of last week there was a Hat Day at the school. This is when students and teachers wear hats of any kind to school. The hats ranged from normal baseball hats to jockey caps and the stranger the hat was, the better it was. This event was to make the day more exciting and add a little school spirit to the students. Midterm report cards were given out on Wednesday of last week which was bad news for some students. The midterm report cards give students an idea of how ell they have been doing and if they should improve on their marks. Graduation _ pictures were taken on Thursday of last. week, which meant that Grade 12 and 13 students had to dress for their pictures. The cost of the pictures was three pictures for $5 and their sizes were 3 inches by 5 inches. Approximately 90 graduation pictures were taken.
