| Craighurst | by F. Craig Mrs. Harvey Oades has returned from spending some time with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jesperson and family, in Fort McMurray. While in Edmonton she attended Mr. and Mrs. Jesperson Sr.'s 50th wedding anniversary. The Floyd Sintons were in Bracebridge Nov. 13 to attend Lisa Duff's wedding. The Allan Sintons visited Mrs. Knox in Fergus. The Craighurst W.I. entertained guests from Dalston, Crown Hill, and Hillsdale at the November meeting held in St. John's S.S. room. Mary Poole, public relations convener, was in charge of the programme. Guest speaker was Marie Aitken, textile design instructor from Georgian College. She showed a most in- teresting set of slides illustrating the myriad uses of textiles in traditional to modern designs. The ladies asked many questions bout the samples of stitchery she displayed, as well. The president, Mrs. Carr, reported the ball park bleachers are now installed. Joy Kirton read a comment on the motto: Earth holds no greater good_ than friendship, woven link by link. Roll Call was answered by A TV commercial that insults your intelligence. There was no problem in finding a reply to that one. The December meeting will be brought forward one week to Dec. 14 at which time boxes for shut-ins will be packed. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Shanahan and Mr. and Mrs. Max Craig attended the North Simcoe Directors Crop Improvement Association banquet in Elmvale on Nov. 16. Mr. and Mrs. George Burnham and Nancy were guests at Barrie Kiwanis Club dinner and awards night at Holiday Inn on Nov. 15. Nancy received a trophy for winning highest number of points in the Inter- mediate section of Barrie Junior Fair. Neil Craig of the Junior Fair Board made the presentation. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Shanahan attended the wedding of the latter's niece, Jane Partridge, in Central Church, Barrie, on Nov. 13, also the reception which was held at Stroud Community Centre. United - Oades home from Fort McMurray Mrs. Pigeau_ of Onaping spent last week with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Pigeau and family. Green light granted Midland council, Monday night, declared Friday, Dec. 10, Human Rights Day. The occasion will help Universal the 34th an- mark niversary of the Declaration of Human Rights.
