Press release says Lalonde resigned Although he couldn't be reached for comment this week, a press release given to this newspaper on Monday, indicated Ray Lalonde had resigned as president of the Tiny-Tay Huronia Handicapped Association at the TTHHA's general meeting last Thursday. The press release adds: the membership present expressed their appreciation for the work which Mr. Lalonde had completed in the development and management of the association to date. A membership meeting to elect a new President and also fill other executive positions is scheduled_ for Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m.at the A. E. Lepage mall. All members are urged to attend this most im- portant meeting. Page 14, Wednesday, November 10, 1982 Boys' and Girls' Clubs and Junior Farmer acitivities, and was a key worker in the development of the Barrie Junior Fair. Throughout the 1940s, in addition to his farm operations, he assisted the Ontario Department of .Agriculture with farm management and many other programs. He was also most active in the Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture, of which he was secretary-treasurer for nearly a decade. It is in recognition of Cecil Chappell's leadership and guidance in agriculture in general, and in Junior Extension in particular, that this award is made. The award is to be made annually to a North Simcoe 4-H Club member displaying outstanding ability, leadership and citizenship during the club year. Andy Jones of RR 1, Midland is this year's winner. Andy has been very active in the 4-H program, completing 10 agricultural _ projects. Andy Jones, en- thusiasm in 'club work carries into a number of county, regional, and provincial events. He has participated in 4-H Regional Conference, CNE, Regional Judging Competition, the Queen's Guineas, and Stockyard Show. Andy has represented North Simcoe at Provincial 4- H Leadership Camp (1981), as well as the Kent County Exchange. As a Silver Dollar team member, he placed fifth overall in the Beef Division. Andy's involvement in community and school activities has been extensive. Sports ac- tivities, as well as public speaking, being a member of Reach for the Top, and a church elder, keep Andy busy as an active member of the community. He is presently completing his secondary school education as well as farming on the Jones family farms. Raising purebred Simmental cattle isa special in- terest. Andy Jones is an outstanding individual and most deserving of this award. As a runner-up, David Anderson of Orillia has been selected. David has completed 10 4-H agricultural _ projects. He has held various executive positions and his enthusiastic ap- proach motivates other club members. David is presently farming at home with his father. Infants born on or after Nov. 1, 1982, must be secured in an appropriate rear-facing carrier when travelling in a motor vehicle. These infants, as they grow into the toddler stage of between 9 and 18 kilograms (20 and 40 pounds), must be properly secured in an appropriate child seat. All pre-schoolers, between 18 and 23 kilo- grams (40 and 50 pounds), must be secured in a lap belt. Children over 23 kilograms (50 pounds) must wear the full seat belt assembly. Buckie them in.
