For the last two years I have been the chair- man of Elmvale's own hydro system, which has been kept in good condition over the years, and one of the most economic! utilities when compared to utilities in other villages of our size. Taxes in Elmvale have remained stable and our village is still going strong. I would like to see council keep the pay as we go policy. I will work closely with the Chamber of Commerce to keep our business community strong, and with other committees for growth in the areas of housing, business and recreation. Craig Judy Watson is busy with her campaign to win a seat on the Simcoe County School Board, representing Vespra- Essa. Several years ago she did a study of the teaching of English in our county schools. Last Tuesday was a day of great speculation to those of us who live within sight of the CP Rail tracks. For the greater part of the day squads of uniformed men patrolled up and down each side of the track. Had a CP Rail brakeman __ inadverta- ntly dropped his gold watch? Were they looking for a vital piece of equipment that might have caused "The Great Medonte Train Wreck" last February, or was it a search for something even more sinister? Perhaps we will never know. I look forward to serving as your reeve for the next three year term of office. J BN j sit on Twp. council I cannot stress the fact too strongly that according to statistics, only a small percentage of eligible voters ac- tually go to the polls to cast their ballots during municipal elections. You and I are the township and_ the elected council should be: our @reffective representatives in all matters concerning our well-being and livelihood. , We elect Council. to plan, discuss and decide for us the countless ways to look after our affairs. The indecision and abstention in making firm decisions when called upon in sensitive matters is an injustice to the ratepayers of Tiny Township. I firmly believe in handling the affairs of the Township on a positive basis. The -- environmental issues such as the landfill problem and the aerial crop spraying concern are just .two matters that should be rectified as soon as possible after the new council has been elected. The annexation bid by the present Midland council is opposed by this candidate. We can only hope that the members of the next Midland council will rescind their bid for our land and thereby spare the ever increasing costs and_ divisions occurring in our com- munity. We all have a right to voice. our concern or suggest methods that will help our Township be an extension of ourselves. Please exercise this right and vote for the candidate who will listen and concern himself with the proper management of our community and who has the decisiveness needed to make and keep our township a truly fine and wonderful area to live. Your support on Noy. 8 as your representative on the new Tiny Township council is sincerely appreciated. for Flos West Hwy 27 Vote Giffen for fair representation Township Council Only running candidate South Hwy 92 NOV.8, VOTE TO RE-ELECT DON BERTRAM for Flos Township Councillor Don experience 4 years as Chairman of Finance and Drainage 2 years Council's rep on Planning Board and Chairman of Fire Dept. 2 years as Chairman of Parks Waste Disposal Sites For transportation to the Polls, phone 322-2575
