The long-awaited report, prepared by the firm of Morrison-Beatty on behalf of Eric Pauze, dumpsite owner, has a number of inconsistencies which need further study, Lackie said Monday. Tiny Township has hired Pat Lee, the Gartner-Lee groundwater hydrology consultants, to senior partner of study the report. "'Lee is considered one of the top men in Canada,"' said Lackie. A designated Lee has been working with the Federal government on the effect of the Love Canal consulting engineer, contamination problem. "Lee will give us an honest answer,"' said Lackie. "He has no axes to grind, and is not involved in the politics of the situation."" Lee's report is expected within two weeks. The main area of confusion in the Morrison-Beatty report is the source of the chemical which has been found in three private wells near the site. The wells are contaminated with clorinated hydrocarbons, namely trichlorethylene. The' Morrison-Beatty report states that the wells have been impacted by sources other than the landfill site, eContinued on Page 3 Mental Health Centre death inquest on Nov. 17 An inquest into the death of Mitchell May, who died while in the Penetanguishene Mental Health Centre, will be convened two weeks from today. May died Sept. 13. He is one of three men and one woman who have died while in the Penetanguishene Mental Health Centre or its Oak Ridge division, between Aug. 23 and Sept. 26. No inquests are set into the death by drowning of Nina Lapish, 69, who died Aug. 29, or into the death in D Ward of Oak Ridge on Sept. 26 of Stewart Bomberry, 24. A date for an inquest into the death on Aug. 23 of Stanley Carson, 32, has not been an- nounced by Coroner Herman Jilesen. An announcement was made that an inquest would be held soon after Carson's death. Carson died while in Oak Ridge's H Ward. The OFA is meeting in Toronto on Nov. 22, 23 and 24. Five hundred delegates will represent the federation's 26,000 members. Incumbent trustee Alvin Gravelle, and Joan Jensen, will be in the library of St. Joseph School starting at 8 p.m. The Rotary Club of Penetanguishene has organized a candidates' meeting for 7:30 p.m. this evening in the auditorium of Ecole Secondaire Penetanguishene Secondary School. Time to get aboard Tory's bandwagon Simcoe North Progressive Conservative Association will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. at the Cold- water Senior Citizens Hall to select delegates to The General Meeting of the Progressive Conservative Association of Canada in Winnipeg on Jan. 26 to 30. Doug Lewis M.P. for Simcoe North and deputy opposition house leader will speak to association members un the recent opening of Parliament. Association members will also be voting on amendments to their con- ~ stitution. This will be the last opportunity for those interested in attending the one-day conference in Toronto on Nov. 20 to register. Clothing stolen from Peoples Midland town police are investigating the theft of $800 of clothing from the fire-damaged Peoples Store. Police were called to the store at 8:30a.m. Monday whena report of a break- in was received. Entry was gained through the store's back door. Coats and sweaters were taken from the store's ground floor.
