Last day on the job It was an emotional time at the Huronia Nursing Home in Penetanguishene Wednesday as volun- teers, community leaders, staff, relatives and residents joined in a Farewell Tea for the grand old establishment. They'll all be moving to the new Sara Vista Nursing Home in Elmvale over the next couple of weeks. One who won't be joining the move, though, is Eva Hamelin, shown above at Wednesday's affair. She's been nursing at the Huronia home for eight years of "devotion and giving of herself to them," said activity director Heather Brooking, and Wednesday's get-together was an especially heartfelt event for her. Among the dignitaries on hand were Penetanguishene Reeve Art Stewart and Deputy-Reeve Frances St. Amant, who presented a letter to the home's Shirley Mills on behalf of Mayor Ron Bellisle. "We wish you well in your new venture," said Bellisle, 'and are pleased you will still be in the immediate area." The home's final birthday parties, for Delia Beauchamp, Wilfred Clark, Jean Wettlauffer, Martha Feindell, Rose Burton and Jean-Baptiste Marion, were arranged by the volunteers and staff. Brooking said of the volunteers: "'They're the hub of any institution. Without them the reality of the world doesn't come to us."
