| SS Se BN a by Mrs. F. Craig The. September Women's Institute meeting was under the convenership of Bar- bara Dunsmore. As convener of Agriculture and Canadian Industries she had arranged a tour of Woodside Pottery. The pottery is in the old schoolhouse in the village. We were very interested in Hartley's explanation of the different types of clay and their uses, the stages an article must pass through, the firing in the kiln, and most facinating of all to see, a vessel take shape under his hands on the potter's wheel. This was the first visit for some of the members to an industry which was established in our community more than three - years ago. Wyevale Following the tour we repaired to - Mrs. Dunsmore's home for the business meeting and lunch. Reports of District Annual, District Directors meeting, and 85th anniversary dinner of FWIO were given. Delegates appointed to Area Convention are Jean Oades and Betty Lou--Carr,. OLD YOUR If your chimney is defective, your house may be feeling just like you do right now. Because heating systems take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Just like you do. But when a furnace can't get enough oxygen, or carbon dioxide can't escape, your house can't "breathe" Carbon monoxide can be created and that is a dangerous situation for you and your family. A clean and clear chimney is necessary to vent your furnace properly. Here are some warning signs of chimney deterioration: L] loose mortar and bricks (] white powder or water stains on chimney above roof (] water stains at the chimney's clean-out door. YOU MAY NEED A'CHIMNEY LINER TO PREVENT EROSION OF THE MASONRY. For your safety, and for your peace of mind, have your heating system and chimney inspected and cleaned annually by a qualified contractor. You and your house will both breathe a sigh of relief.
