President Al Dorion thanked everyone who had helped make the past season a success especially the coaches and their assistants who gave so freely of their time and those who did the umpireing duties and of course the parents of the team members. i The election of new officers was very short as president Al Dorion agreed to remain for the coming year as did Darlene Robinson as secretary-treasurer. Crests were presented to all the team members by their coaches. Gary Marchment coach of the T-Ball teams thanked everyone for their help with the teams and introduced his players. Brian Turner and Cliff Lockhart were the coaches for the Mini- squirts who were presented with crests. Darrin Edwards received the David Dalton Memorial Trophy for the most safe hits and Brian Kulc- zycki the trophy for the most improved player. The squirt team was coached by Bob Potter Senior who presented his team members with Chris Jones receiving the most Valuable player award and Greg Nagel the sportmanship trophy. There were two Pee Wee teams with Pee Wee no. two. being coached by Ron Belisky, who presented his team with crests and the Most Valuable Player award to Shawn Wheeler and the Murray Edwards Sportsmanship Mem- orial Trophy to Sean Hook. The Vasey U.C.W. will meet at the Vasey United Church on Tues. Sept. 28 at 7:30. Mrs. Alma Kimber and Mrs. Mary Prince of Sarnia visited last Thurs. and Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Woods. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Orval Edwards and Greg were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Edwards and family of Owen Sound and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Gratrix Jennifer and Brian of Bewdley. A number from the community attended the 35th wedding = an- niversary celebration for Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Whetham at the Orr Lake Golf Club on Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Brian Quinn of Aurora spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Stan Robinson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Melvern Isaac and Mr. and Mrs. Clare McKeown at- tended the 50th wedding anniversary in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Wm MacMullen of Stouff- ville on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Isaac then attended the 25th wedding -- anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Fleming in Barrie. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Wilson of Kentville N.S. are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Blake Edwards for a few days. Congratulations .to Mr. and Mrs. Don Truax on the arrival of a new daughter a sister for Jessica. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lane of the Manitoulin visited during the first of the week with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rumney. Mr. John Moriarty has returned to his boat the Olympic this week. During the weekend Mr. and Mrs. Rick Nigro of North Bay visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Wraps up season Moriarty and Ed. Mr. Jack Lyle of Calgary is visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Arley Taylor and family. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Woods and Mrs. Ger- trude Green visited recently in Kapuskasing with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Woods and Mr. and Mrs. David Woods and their families.
