-EDSHL ejects 'hit squad' The Elmvale District Senior Hockey League voted to throw out the Barrie American Hotel entry and replace it with an applicant from Phelpston during a league meeting last Tuesday. Former league president and meeting chairman Cliff Vollick said Monday that the American Hotel team, which lost in the finals last year to the Elmvale Steelers, were banned because the team reps felt "nobody wants to get killed or hurt too badly." Vollick said the Barrie team's conduct % throughout the season, and particularly in the Gieseler tops Field Marlon Gieseler fired i. finals, was viewed as excessively violent by the other members of the full-contact loop. Last year's finals were marked by several on-ice incidents which resulted in injury to Elmvale players and temporary and per- manent suspension to some members of the Barrie club. The new Phelpston entry will join the Wyevale Autos, the Perkinsfield Perkies, the Oro Oilers, the Minesing Food Masters and the Steelers in this year's schedule, which is expected to get underway about the third week in October.
