In other action Sun- day, Forget edged the Stompers 6-5, the Eagles slammed Duquette's TV 10-1 and the Diggers knocked off Don's Janitorial 6-1. In the only other game Monday, the Stompers got by the Islanders 4-3. Mike Duquette earned the shutout for Ron's in Sunday's contest and Lyle Buttineau, Ken Akerman, Dan Leclair and Martin Quigley provided the firepower. Doug Gillespie punched in four goals for the Oilers in their big win last Thursday, Gary Hansford picked up three, Ken Mitchell two, and singles were provided by Dennis Pelletier, Kevin Dusome and Carl Cowan. Ron Lalonde and Martial Marion replied for the Sabres. Oilers marksmen in Sunday's encounter were Larry Cowan, Carl Cowan and Gillespie. Peter Maracle an- swered for the Royals. Carl Cowan fired in two for the Oilers in Monday's game, backed up with singles from Wayne Dixon, Hansford and Gillespie. Peter Robillard had two for the Diggers, Paul Maracle had the other. Chris Anderson and Brian Lethbridge were the Forget goal-getters in their Thursday clash, Peter Maracle came up with both Royals goals. The Legion's Thur- sday punch came from Jamie Robitaille, Frank Hall, Mare Beausoleil, Jerry Ladouceur and Peter Desroches. Todd Lalonde and- Brian Revers replied for the Stompers. Bryan Lethbridge led the Forget attack Sunday with three goals, Bill McIntosh had a pair and Doug St. Amant rounded things out. Stompers goals that day came from Tom Graham, Mark Cardwell, Steve Dunn, Jeff Wright and Paul Sauve. Mike Duval nna Orillia's Udell Sports beat Brechin 2-1 in a tense championship final at the annual Vasey Field Day fastball tournament Saturday in Vasey. Brechin, which shutout their two previous op- ponents in the single-knockout tournament, grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning of the late-afternoon final, but the game Orillia club immediately rebounded with a pair of runs on three hits in the bottom half of the frame.
