Centre today. by Eleanor Edwards Carrol Graham Vasey United Church held a very successful Walk-a-thon Workathon on Saturday May 1. Approximately 25 participated in the walk and Mrs. Winnie Faint received the prize for the adult with the most pledges and Mrs. Adeline Edwards for the oldest walker. Mathew Smitham was the youngest walker and Andy Robinson received a trophy for the most pledges among the youth. The Robinson family, Darlene, Andy and Jason had the highest pledges for a family. While the walkers were going the three, five, and eight miles another industrious group were involved in the workathon which saw many projects com- pleted both inside and outside the church. Many thanks to all who participated and to those who sponsored and contributed in any way to make this fund raising project for the renovation a_ real success. The next project will be a gaint flea market and mini auction on Aug. 14. by Irene Quesnelle To date donations towards the new Meals On Wheels containers total $1,878. The most recent donors are: 'Stan Dane, Margaret Ritchie, Edna Ritchie, and the Quota Club whose total donations -will pur- chase 7 new hot lock containers.
